Rev. Charlie Lyons

For over 25 years, vocational ministry has been a central part of my professional experience. Having served as a senior pastor, missionary, non-profit board director, and legislative chaplain, the Lord has equipped me well for my current role as Executive Director of GEM Canada. In 2024, I added “author” to that list when I released my first book, Kindness For Life: Raising Kind Children Who Become Kind Adults Who Build a Kinder World. 

I have observed significant changes in the Canadian Christian non-profit sector since I began working for a charitable foundation at the age of 16, and I’m grateful for all the lessons I’ve learned in the various non-profit roles God has given me over the years. I believe the Canadian Church is ready for a revival of a global missions mindset. My prayer is that God will give GEM Canada a front-row seat to watch Jesus do miraculous things across our nation as we partner with Him in spreading His glorious Gospel to Europe! 

It’s an honour to serve in the day-to-day leadership of this beloved organization after a few years serving on the board of directors. My position as Executive Director receives limited funding from the General Fund and is supported primarily by ministry partners. I am excited about what’s ahead for Greater Europe Mission Canada and invite you to consider partnering with me to further support GEM’s mission and continue to see our National Office team flourish.
