Deciding to go on a mission trip is not something one does alone. Not only do missionaries have prayer and financial supporters on their side, but they also have an administrative team behind them, removing the headache of sorting through their own logistical necessities and allowing them to simply serve as the Lord directs. I’m honoured to quietly serve both GEM Canada missionaries and short-term Team participants as they prepare for their trips, helping to create a more seamless experience for all involved.
For almost 30 years I’ve been involved in teaching and providing administrative help for both a Christian school and GEM’s Teams ministry. Although I’m no longer serving within Europe, I’m thankful to have the opportunity to continue helping administratively from Canada, while also preparing both our teams and individuals as they serve on short-term trips, and supporting my fellow missionaries situated in Europe.
My experience in serving in Austria and Germany over the years has allowed me to better assist my coworkers serving in Europe; and my ministry in administration and working with short-term teams help me to assist more effectively from Canada. Serving as a missionary in any capacity will often reveal unknowns, which could easily create anxiety or concerns in a worker. It’s my privilege to walk alongside these missionaries, taking some of these burdens off their shoulders or guiding them through unknown circumstances, to allow them to return their focus back to their tasks.
When my family needed me the most, God provided an opportunity for me to be a support to them in Canada, while still helping virtually with GEM. Being able to continue working with participants going on short-term teams – the same ministry I had while living in Germany – is a wonderful blessing. I am thankful for the possibility of being able to remain connected with my coworkers while now residing across the ocean!
By partnering in my ministry financially, I am able to keep serving with GEM in Canada. Your generosity, which I am so thankful for, makes it possible for me to work with those hoping to serve on short-term teams, and provide assistance to those who are on the frontlines in Europe. If this important administrative ministry interests you, would you consider partnering with me?
